Communication style

Whether it’s written or verbal, how we speak to our customers is just as important as what we say. Here’s a few golden rules to help you get it right:

Casual

Speak like a human. Sure, we can help with that. Can we jump on a call for a quick chat? Just drop me an email.

Honest

Be open, honest and straight to the point. Being clear helps reduce unnecessary stress for everyone.

Helpful

Offer solutions, not problems. We can't do everything, but what we can do is X, Y or Z.

Supportive

Use positive language and reassure. “All we need from you is XYZ, leave the rest to us.”

Formal

Avoid corporate language at all costs. It makes you sound boring, cold and mildly threatening.

Insincere

Don’t try and pull the wool over anyone’s eyes. It’s not cool, and you’ll probably end up looking stupid.

Inflexible

If we can, we bend over backwards to help our clients. You can say no, but don’t be a dick about it.

Matter-of-fact

Help people understand what they need to know, in simple terms. Don't blind them with technical jargon. Nobody likes a know-it-all.

Tone of voice

Kensa Creative’s brand personality is the “Playful Freethinker” (CFIM).

  • We speak directly to our audience as “you”, not “our customers”.
  • We contract words “we’re” not “we are”
  • Proper punctuation always.
  • Excessive exclamation is banned!!!
  • A clever pun is always welcome.
  • We can be slightly sarcastic without being rude or disrespectful.
